Today, Alex and I didn’t bring lunch to work. Since Alex was new to the area, we decided to have Terrace Fish & Chips – a place that I have been for a several times and liked it. I got the grilled salmon with brown rice, mixed mesclun, carrot, cucumber and seasoned mushroom. Alex got fried fish with potato wedges. Both dishes were good. Fish were tender and juicy. I liked the seasoned mushroom a lot.
Bang Bang by Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj reminded me of Bang Bang shrimp from Bonefish.
We have planned for this trip to Navy Pier – Lobster Festival for weeks. I knew that Chicago was not known for their seafood but we went there to meet up with some new friends and have some good time. Too bad one of them wasn’t able to make it.
The festival ticket came with a whole lobster, a lobster roll or a lobster taco. We all picked the whole lobster. It was very fun to eat in the Great Hall with many other people, while listening to live music. Outside of the hall, there were a lot of vendors just like Atlantic City or Coney Island. One of them was selling gator sausages, which was mixed with gator & pork and spices. For dessert, we had churro (my first ever), which tasted like an old fashion donut, and a funnel cake (Alex’s first). I told him that he was missing out.
The view from the pier was awesome. Too bad it was pretty cloudy today. They cancelled the air show. However, we still had fun.
There were some cover band playing during the fest. One of them was Think Floyd USA. Even though we missed their performance, this whole event still reminded me of Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd.
